The contribution of Archaeology, a branch of the Humanities, to the assessment of historic truth is a fact beyond doubt. Our knowledge of the History of Man would have been extremely incomplete if it had been based only on philological sources and had rejected the valuable information and data derived from interdisciplinary sciences, such as Archaeology, History and Anthropology. Furthermore. Archaology, due to its educational properties, has a distinct position among the disciplines of Altertumwissenschaft with an educational character. The educational value of Archaeology is apparent in the daily didactic practice, since it is necessary used for the documentation, annotation and enrichment of the knowledge obtained by students, either through History or in courses in Ancient Greek Literature.
